Lisa Erickson
Trouble walking.
Lisa Erickson was born a steamy summer night in June and right away her
parents knew she was special. (No, not Special Ed.) She grew up with two
older brothers, who taught her many things, like how fun it is to play the
Name Game with Mitch and Chuck. (Just think about it.) They also introduced
her to sports, where it is not only acceptable to be violent, but encouraged
as well. While Lisa took to sports quickly, her social skills began to fall
behind. Although violence and aggression are accepted on the sports field,
in polite society it is highly frowned upon. Unfortunately, her family didn’t
really help. Instead, they helped Lisa develop a sense of sarcasm that few
understand, and many are offended by. (No Erickson dinner is complete without
a side of sarcasm.) While the violent side of her has toned down a bit, the
sarcasm gene kicked into full gear upon high school. Luckily for her she,
after graduating she attended Michigan State University. It was there that
she found her place and began writing for Spartan Weekly, the best campus
newspaper in the world. (I’m not lying.) Her athletic background and
sarcastic tendencies made a perfect combination for sports writing at a satirical
paper. To be continued…
