David Sparks

Journalist. Cat farmer. American Badass.

David Sparks is a fresh addition to the team behind Spartan Weekly. David is an MSU freshman that changes his major once every week. You may see him staring at the cereal box shelf for several minutes at South Complex residence halls, trying to make up his mind. You might also see him riding his bike in the standing-up position going unnecessarily fast, thinking he’s the coolest thing since sliced bread. David is also the one that looks suspicious in the cafeteria because he is seeing if the coast is clear so he can slip some fresh fruit into his book bag. In addition, David is co-owner of a 1,400-acre cat farm in southwest Michigan where he grows catnip and raises felines for market. In the picture, David is showcasing a very valuable Burmese shorthair, bred for its skills in magic. Other than that, David is just like any other MSU student. Some of his hobbies and recreational interests include but are not limited to: coin and stamp collecting, slicing bread, hiking, memorizing Scripture, swimming and bathing, watching MacGyver episodes, and, of course, sucking helium out of birthday balloons.
