Michael Cera to Play Lovable Nerd in Upcoming Indie-Teen Comedy

Shelley Hoover

Hollywood – In a twist that came as a shock to many of his loyal fans, actor Michael Cera announced that he’s going to shake off his type-cast and play something completely different – a loveable geek.

An interview with Peopleeee Magazine tells all:

”I just don’t want to be remembered as the single-character guy. Everyone knows I can play the asshole high-school jock, but being a nerd, that’s going to be tough. With my bulging muscles, a deep voice, reeking confidence and posture that the gods envy, I really hope I can pull off the guy next door.”

When asked about the film, Joey’s Make-believe
Grocery Store Adventure,
Cera explains the character.

”Joey is a seventeen year old high school senior who works as a cashier at a crappy grocery store. You know, your average guy – incredibly shy but insanely witty and sharp, and on the verge of scoring just by being himself (which apparently hadn’t worked before.) Anyway, an equally quirky and adorably sexy girl from Joey’s high school starts shopping there. The two start hanging out in the grocery store, having all sorts of fun throwing the produce around and running through aisles and what not….ah, I won’t ruin it for you. You can bet they fall in love though.”

Michael Cera’s agent thinks this is a great way to exploit…er, show Cera’s versatility.
