Forgotten Star of Yesteryear: Where are they now?

Have you seen Oprah?

By Michelle Grossman

Chicago-- Back in the 1970s and early ‘80s, we were all addicted to hit television shows such as the Baltimore WJZ-TV Six O’Clock News and AM Chicago, but what has happened to the beloved star of these programs? Some claimed to have spotted her in Chicago; others have seen her in New York. Another sighting claimed she was as far away as South Africa.

With the help of the same team that tracks down old child stars for VH1, Oprah Winfrey was able to be found. When we approached her outside of a chic restaurant, she made her current professional state clear by saying “What? Get out of my way, please.”

When offered a spot on the next season of The Surreal Life, a VH1show for B-list former stars, she rejected it. “I already have a job,” she replied to the offer. An anonymous voice from a crowd then shouted “AM Chicago has been dead for years! Face it—you’re a nothing without that show around!”

Since AM Chicago disappeared from the airwaves and her stint on the Baltimore WJZ-TV Six O’clock News ended, Winfrey has kept busy hosting some talk show.
